Loreena McKennit Live At New Vision United Church

Last night I got to see Loreena McKennitt live in concert! She sang in a church, New Vision United Church, in downtown Hamilton. I thought the concert was awesmazing (awesome + amazing)!

She even brought the band, The Bookends on her tour. She said this tour was about letting people know churches aren't just buildings there more like living breathing things and places of community. And while we were there I got her to sign my program.

Sadly it was really hard to take pictures during the show but I did get to meet with her during the meet and greet/ Q&A. There were some really cool lighting effects during the show, and if you know her music some of it sounds like it be sung around a fireplace while other songs of hers sound like they would be sung in the middle of a forest or something, and the way the lighting effects were used really reflected that.

Cedric Smith was there as the narrator and he told a story, and if you close your eyes while listening to him (I kinda had to because my mom gave me this candy that made my eyes feel like they're frozen, so I had to keep them closed) it sounded like a man telling his child a story of winters past at the fireplace. We even got the CD of the live recording.

At the Q&A I got this free record just for showing up, but sadly, my mom pulled me away before I could ask any questions at the Q&A.
