This is a picture of The Birks Clock in the Hamilton Farmers Market in downtown Jackson square. I was there at the best time of day, on the hour, and I even got a great moment of the jousting knights in motion, right before they collide in their joust.

The Birks clock was built in October of 1930. For Henry Birks and Sons’ newly remodeled building. In August of 1972, Birks moved into Jackson Square and the clock was moved to a pillar outside Jackson Square at the intersection of James and King Streets. And in 2011 Hamilton Farmers Market was remodeled and The Burkes Clock was refurbished, and it now hangs in the Hamilton Farmers Market to this day.

A fun fact about this clock is that it was actually built in England.

The main photography style I was going for was Motion although it is a little hard to depict motion with a still frame, and as you can see there isn't that much blur because the knights weren't moving very fast. I also attempted to follow the rule of thirds by having the subject, the clock on the intercepting points in the rule of thirds. Also, if you look at it just above the knights’ heads are the bottom 2 intersect points and the clocks hands are the top two intersect points.

I also attempted Filling The Frame and Framing but you can't really fill the frame while trying to capture the majesty of this clock's beauty in one shot, and the frame doesn't quite work because there's a column on one side and you can see the Hamilton Public Library’s central branch on the other side and the ceiling is a pattern and there is a tapering at the bottom pointing to some market stalls and seating that are just below it.

Wouldn’t you just love to have something like this in your house, well maybe not as big since this would probably take up an entire room. If you would like to have something like this, please let me know down below.
