Today Chris Hadfield came to Mohawk college for a special speaking event, and he was amazing! He talked about how long he is a young child that he always wanted to be an astronaut. He was very inspirational when he was talking about how that child that he was had to improve on himself and make changes over and over so he could become the man he is today and be that “Astronaut” like the one on the posters. he was very friendly and personable and was rather interested in the topics he was talking about which is all about growing up and wanting to be an astronaut and then becoming said astronaut.
He was even talked about his first spacewalk, he was the first Canadian to ever take a space walk, and building the space station robot arm constructed in Canada. He even said it's as if Canada had built the space station because the arm had to put everything together, but every component was built by one of the countries that contributed to building the space station. he also showed some of the photos of him working on the arm and some of the video of his first space walk.
Apparently, Mohawk College got a generous donation in about 2018 and tried to book an appearance with him but then COVID restrictions caused that to fall through. So, the Dean of Mohawk college said, “You could say this [speech by Chris Hadfield] was years in the making.”
At the end of the speech Chris Hadfield played his guitar and he sang a rendition of Space Oddity by David Bowie. But in this one the astronaut lives.

Here is a link to his website so you can get some of his stuff and just read about this man who is definitely a living legend.
